Its my Favorite time of the day - My Full Night Time Beauty Routine

 Hello Ladies,

Its been just over two months being back to work since the Lockdown, its so nice being back into a routine, seeing people again and having my previous worries and anxiety's about what life after lockdown would be like, have certainly gone. Even though COVID is still a major issue and a worry in everyone minds. Life still goes on and we're quickly adapting to new ways of doing things, One thing I'm mostly liking about this new normal is that life is at a slower pace now, there is no rushing around and wearing ourselves out over the materially things in life. I think we all can agree on that, we all have a new found appreciation for the small things and we wont take them for grated anymore. I couldn't imagine going back to the rat race of daily life, can you?

But today I want to share my night time beauty routine, as a new normal comes with new skin issues too. As I think most of us are suffering with extreme dry hands from all the washing and hand sani's, and most are suffering with 'Maskne' like myself. So my beauty routine has changed alot since before lockdown, then during lockdown and now has changed again after lockdown. Which is normal, different environments cause different problems. So ill share my current routine, the products I am currently using, what is working for me and also what I'm still lacking in my routine, and also what I'll be adding to my routine now coming into the winter months. Which I'll also keep you updated on.

Coming from a busy day at the salon, my skin has broken out from wearing a mask all day, my hands are dry from washing and over using cleaning products all day long, plus I'm covered in nail dust and currently sweating with the current humidity Ireland is experience this summer. I'm not a pretty sight to see, so I really enjoy my beauty night time routine to revive me a little.

So firstly as I wear a uniform for work that goes straight into the washing machine to be clean or if I am trying to get another day out of the uniform I will spray the uniform in Zoflora or Dettol all in one spray. Just to freshen it up and also disinfects the clothing.
Then straight into the shower I go! woohoo!

For hygiene reasons I am washing my hair alot more than I did before which I know is more damaging for the hair, so leave in treatments and hair masks have been my saving grace, plus leaving my hair to dry naturally, to prevent heat damage. So I have been plating my hair alot while using the coconut Unique One All in one treatment, this give 10 hair benefits, repairs dry & damaged hair, gives shine & frizz control, heat protection, colour protection, split end protection, UVA & UVB protection, acts as a detangler, easy brushing and leaves the hair silky, shiny, smooth and smells of beautiful coconut! thats everything my hair needs in one bottle. At the moment I am only blow drying my hair twice a week, and while washing my hair almost every day.

My hair is quite healthy and I have no split ends. But my blonde could be alot cleaner, which is my next challenge. I have just purchased the New Aussie Hair  care for blonde hair from boots, which is a purple shampoo and conditioner, but also gives hydration & blonde care. So I'll let you know my thoughts on that on my socials.

To tackle the 'Maskne' breakouts, and oily sweaty skin after a day of wearing a face mask. I start my skin care with a face wash, double cleanse and exfoliate in the shower. I'm still using the Soap & Glory Vit C facial wash to wash away make up and the daily nail dust, sweat and all that nasty stuff. So then my face is clean to ensure my double cleanse works well. I use the Environ skincare range, recently have changed from the low foam cleansing gel to the Hydra- intense cleansing lotion. Which I'm enjoying more, the Hydra-intense has all the benefits of the low foam cleansing gel but is in a lotion form and has anti-aging properties too. Which that sold me straight away! It feels alot more silkier on the skin and hydrating too, so depending on the 'maskne' on the day I will double cleanse with this or I will cleanse once and then use the Sebu wash Cleasner for my second cleanse, this contains salicylic acid which exfoliates the skin and helps to dry out the breakouts. Which is great for 'Maskne' as the spots will appear during the day, and will be dried out be the next day after using the Sebu Wash. But I try not to use this daily as it can dry out the skin alot, so when I don't need it I used the Dermalogica Daily Micro-foliant for a gentle exfoliation just to remove the excess oil produced from the day before my double cleanse. So every night, my steps are in different orders, and I may swap a product depending on how my skin is that day. But I will always finish with my Environ Avast 2 moisturizer with contains Vit A, this calms, plumps and repairs the skins normal function. I also use a eye cream, Vita-Peptide Eye Gel, which I'm obsessed with, this is my most expensive skin product, but really seeing results, so its worth every penny! Those little dehydrated wrinkles around the eyes are gone, my bags are plumping out and my eye area is left alot brighter. For extra hydrated once or twice a week, I may swap my moisturizer out for the hydration oil capsules. I also love this product because it feels a bit more pampering, I would apply this and roll my face with a cold rose qaurtz roller to stimulate the skin cells. If feels like an 'at home' facial, Heaven! So over all I'm really enjoying the Environ products, still learning how to control the 'Maskne' but my skin is alot better now than it was when I first started.

On the body, its all Johnsons baby! (Excuse the pun, Ha!) Yes Johnson body to wash away the day. I also use the Soap & Glory Scrub to gentle exfoliate the skin and which fades out the tan nicely. After the shower I use Aveeno Body Mist to hydrate the skin. Which all helps to gentle prep the skin when tanning night comes around. Which is usually Friday or Saturday night for me. I'm still using my favorite self tanning mousse Bahama Body by Terrie Mcvoy in Ultra Dark, which you'll know from my Instagram, I should be an ambassador for Bahama Body at this rate I have been using it for so long. (Oh, I have also tried the new Bahama body instant tan too, A+ love it! great to have for those lazy tan days! We just need it in a lotion form now Terrie, hint hint!) This fades out streak free throughout the week, and I just top it up once a week with a fresh coat (or two). Don't you always feel better with a fresh coat of tan?! I sure do! If you saw my insta stories about the Spotlight tooth care, and wondering if I'm still using the products? I sure am and loving the Whitening toothpaste, But the whitening strips are good and do give a brighter, whiter smile, but I didn't use them for 14 days straight which is the what they say to do to see results. I just don't have a hour in the morning or evenings every day to let the strip work. So I only use the strips as a boaster maybe once or twice a week. Which works for me. But I do want to try the total care toothpaste for the night time brush. So I can keep the whitening toothpaste for the mornings, I'm just finishing off my current toothpaste.

Are you using a Hand cream in your night routine? If not you should! As a Nail Tech I have repeated this over and over for many years, using a cuticle oil and hand cream every night to hydrate and protect your hands and nails. So this isn't a new addition to my night time routine, but I am using different hand creams to basically test them out, as before there wasn't a great selection of hand cream out there for every day use that shown results or wasn't full of harsh perfumes. And if there was we didn't know about it because using a hand cream wasn't a every night priority. But now it is! I will be writing a blog post soon on the hand creams I have used since the Pandemic started, and will continue to buy in more to test them out. I have loved the ones I have been using so far as I looking for all the good ingredients. So when you shopping for hand creams the ingredients to look for is 100% natural ingredients, Vit E, Almond oil and biotin. most hand creams will have one or two of these key ingredients. So make sure to read the small print and the ingredients list before buying, even if its cheap! So to finish my night time Beauty routine I will apply CND Solar oil to my cuticles, side walls and underneath the nail, and lock that all in with a hand cream, but also do the same with my toes & feet. Even my tan is going on alot better from doing this, no more dark tan patches from dry skin.

So thats my evenings in a nut shell, followed by watching Youtube video's until I fall asleep. One thing I try to do is get as much sleep as possible, and drink a full bottle of water. Which isn't always the case every night, but thats the aim. They say drinking water and good sleep is the key to health and beauty. I will be doing a morning beauty routine to, as I'm changing it up now coming into the winter months and also want to boast the immune system with COVID numbers rising. So if your interested in my morning skin supplements aswell as beauty routine let me know.
