10 Nail Care tips for the 'At Home' Manicure **

1. Brown Sugar
Use as a natural exfoliate for both hands and feet. See here for some Nail Care Recipes. Brown Sugar contains Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA). This compound can penetrate your skin and can break down the compound that binds the skin cells. This promotes cell regeneration and rejuvenation.

2. Coconut Oil
Is a brilliant organic oil to use in your home manicure. Rich in Vitamin E, deeply hydrates, heals, soothe and repairs the skin, includes anti oxidants and protein to help repair skin cells, anti-aging.

3. Nail Ridges & Nail Splits
There are loads of ridge fillers out there on the market that are worth investing in,
the CND RIDGEFX, is great!. Or get a semi permanent manicure, gel polish, dipping systems to fill in the natural nail.

4. Gloopy Nail Polish
To stop your nail polish from going dry and gloopy, don't shake the bottle, warm the bottle. Shaking the bottle creates oxygen in the polish which natural drys the polish, warming up the bottle with body heat, thins out the polish and prolongs your favorite colour.

5. Sterilize Manicure Tools
Prevent to spread on fungal infection. Sterilize your nail scissors and clippers after every use. Soak in warm water with bleach or any strong disinfected.

6. Glass/Crystal Files
Are alot softer than any other file on the market for the natural nail and at home use. One it will last you forever, two you can sterilize it and reuse, and three its the softest grit for your natural nail. This will prevent splits, and breaks.

7. Base Coat Twice
Prevent colour straining, use a recommended base coat before your colour to protect your nails. Most base coats have natural moisturizing ingredients in them. Apply first coat by scrapping the brush clean so there is very little on the brush, then seal on the free edge of the nail, then apply the second coat as normal across the nail. This is help prevent the color from chipping.

8. Super Shine Buffer
Get that 'gel like' shine on your natural nails from a buffer. You will be addicted! Just google Super Shine buffer and plenty of options will come up!

9. Seal The Free Edge
Using very little amount of nail polish on the brush, before painting the whole nail, seal the free edge first. This helps prevent the colour from chipping and will prolong your manicure.
