My Sizzling, Successful Summer!

Hello ladies,

How is everyone after the most beautiful summer we've had since the 70's! It's a about time isn't it? Here in Ireland we had a heatwave since May, right up to the end of July! and I mean it was hotter than Spain in Ireland this year.

But I don't know where the summer has gone, it went so fast like did even see Spring? Intro photo So with the great weather, brought plenty of visitors to wexford, and the Nail Boutique was busussyyyyy! Which meant for me, when a day off came around I wanted to be out making the most of it. One of my goals this year was making more time for friends and seeing more places. Which I think I have managed to do, with beach days, days trips, nature walks, BBQ's and nights out. There is so much more to do in the south east when it's sunny.

But it then didn't leave me much time to blog, as you may have notice. My bad!

Buuttt... with the recent news of being long listed for 'Best Beauty Blog' and 'Best Lifestyle Blog' in this up coming Irish Blog awards, (Anndd now, Short listed!) it gave me the motivated I needed to get back into writing.

So here I am, the summer is coming to an end, it's bank to school and the 'C' word is creeping in to the daily conversations and ideas are flowing for Spanking New blog posts. I'm currently in the beautiful Torquay in England visiting my gran parents, listening to the old family stories and taking in the stunning views, in 20+ degrees! finishing off my busy summer with a relaxing break. Life is good at the moment, but the summer was eventful so let me tell you all about.

What I did, where I went, what happened, what I lost and also what I achieved and learnt this summer.

The summer started on the May bank holiday weekend, with the first bit of heat since the snowy weather! Didn't it feel amazing? Soaking up the vitamin D, the new sunnies were on and I was handed my first ever pink gin drink, which I grew to love over the summer months. I was in Cork with to see Ed Sheeran in concert, which was all a last minute decision and with great friends I managed to get a to get a ticket! It was my second time seeing him and I'm still obsessed!

The atmosphere was so overwhelming, all round a great night out and spent it with the best people. Even with a bad choice of shoes, and a 3km zombie walk to the nightclub after! Was a great way to start the summer.

Two life changing things happen next, do you want the good news or the bad news first?

Let's get the bad new out of the way, as I'm finding this part hard to write. Our family dog passed away due to illness, and we had to make a very hard decision to put him out of his pain. My King Charles, baby boy, King of the household called 'DJ' lived 8 years with a heart condition, which is good going for his bread? He was such a lovable well behaved pet, always welcomed everyone with kisses and barking. He Had his own little ways with us all and gave the best cuddles after a long stressful day. I have so many good, funny memories of DJ that I will treasure and he will be a hard character to replace. Life without a dog isn't nice? To be honest, I do miss him. Still get a whiff of he's scent when I fall asleep at night. But we have made a little memorial patch in the corner of the garden with doggy ornaments, where we have laid he's ashes to rest.

I know he's only a dog and people say 'why don't get another dog?', but like any dog lover will know our fur babies cannot be replaced. I created a video of my favourite photos, and short snap chat clips of him over the years, and when posted to Facebook received so many personal comments with genuine sadness, close family & friends were gutted to hear the news.

So, Thank you so much to those who did. It was so nice to see he just wasn't a pet dog, he was family.

Ok so bad News over! Let's give you some good news! If you follow me on Instagram you may of seen I have been doing a teacher trainer course since last year, well I finally completed it and graduated too!! Woohoo!!

Which I'm over the moon with, I even got a little emotional when my certification come in the post. I have always wanted to teach in the beauty industry, and that was next big step in my career. The nail industry is getting more popular, more creative and more noticed now on social media. This is only the start! I do love seeing the wacky nail memes don't you? I want to give a big shout out Thank you to my boss Nataile for giving me the opportunity, and the Waverley Adcadmy for being great role models for teaching. At the moment I am teaching on the job with the NailBou team, the're all so egar to learn, grow and improve their skills. It's amazing to watch! I'm gonna like this new role!

So with this in mind, I also want to bring some new content to the blog, I will be adding a new section where I will teach you about the nail industry and maybe some other passions of mine too. I will be writing them in a way that anyone can learn from, if your just a lover of nails but not sure about the different nail services out there, don't worry I will tell you here. Or if your a nail professional, you may get inspired and learn something new too. I will try and cater for all.

As the summer got hotter, the salon got busier. It was suddenly June, I was training new staff members, seeing to my regular clients, and new ones! The day's flow by, and became very work orientated.

Myself and the MUA at NailBou, did a local fashion show for the release of the NEW Mercedes Benz model. I did the nails, using the CND Vinylux 'Chic Shock' & 'Nude collection' with a Spring Summer Retro twist. Which was so good, I loved the whole experience, the Prima models were all, such lovely beautiful and easy going girls too. Would loved to do more in the future. You can see more photo's and a short video on my Instagram @Miss_Styler_Blog or @Nailbouwex.

June and July is were I lost count?? the weeks, the months started flowing into one and became super busy and fast paced. Thankfully I have a great friend that gave me the motivation to get out of the house, off the sofa or out of the bed to go see places.

Like powers court gardens, curcloue beach, Kelly's resort swimming pool and more. Despite the tooth infections, and pain of my back and neck, I wanted to make to most of this summer.

And I think I did, it's September now and change is currently happening, which I'll shall tell you about in the next life update post. I hope you all had a Great summer 2018!

Talk to you soon
